Extremes
Aug. 17th 2008
Greetings my Dear Readers,
I come to you from the Heart of Paradise where the heat is comparable to that of Hades itself
At long last September and a return to sanity is finally in sight as the we gear up for that last big hooah of the 2008 tourist season and I for one will be glad to see things quiet down and all the tourists return home.
Extremes
The last few weeks here in Paradise have been crazy to say in the least but I have certainly seen the utter extremes between the have's and the have not's in this time.
You see this little corner of Paradise I currently call home is nothing short of the play ground for the wealthy, its quite common to see people like Wayne Gretzky, Ricky Shroder, Jack Nicholson and Andy Moog, just to name a few,out and enjoying what we call home. In recent weeks I've watched young couples fly in on their own private jets (which they pilot themselves) then exit the plane and climb into Jag's, Bentley's and Limo's to be whisked away to our various luxurious points of play.
On the flip side of that I know several people in town who work full time good paying jobs, often working as many as 50 - 60 hours a week, yet are forced to live in their vehicles and Tents because they can't afford the local housing. It's either live as they do, or move into the Flea bag, drug infested motels that cause all the grief I've been posting about here for years.
It's definitely sad when hard working people who work full time jobs are forced to live in their vehicles because of the extreme costs of local housing. It definitely says something about local greed and the messed up priorities of those in power, but such is the price of the Sun Tax (anyone who has lived in a paradise like community will understand the meaning of that unspoken tax)
Until Next time your Cold Hearted Bastard,
D.
