Deterioration of Society, Disposable Children and Corporate Coup

April 8 2009

Greetings my Dear Readers,

I come to you today from a land a cut backs, lay offs and unemployment, so in short from a land of cheerfulness and fulfillment

For the last ten years I have sat back and watched this tourist destination that I call home deteriorate around me and spiral so far down that you can no longer leave your home with out getting propositioned and harassed by beggars, panhandlers, pimps and drug dealers.   Its really sad to watch, as almost everyone I come across from young teenagers to senior citizens are all stumbling around stoned out of their minds, dealing drugs or building grow ops.

Call it the nature of the world today. Blame it on the economy, bad parenting, our high pace society, general unhappiness and hopelessness, what ever you want.  the result is the same. The slow deterioration and destruction of society.

Next is a story that caught my eye earlier this week...

In a quiet Vancouver area neighborhood the body of a newborn baby boy was found discarded in a garbage bag, tossed away like a piece of worthless unwanted refuse.  Yes folks, we live in a world where a precious, wonderful newborn child has so little worth it is easily discarded.  At this time it is unknown if the child was alive or not when it was dumped into a Garbage bag and left.  Autopsy is pending.

The search for the baby's Mother has begun but so far has the authorities have few leads.  Already I can hear the people coming to the mothers defense about how she must have been "overwhelmed" or "young and scared" and just panicked.  Well folks, regardless of who this woman is or why she abandoned her child, in my eyes she deserves to die.  It's that simple.  If the child was still alive at the time it was abandoned, there was no reason to dump the child in a garbage bag.  In today's world the baby could have been easily been left at a hospital, church, service organization or any public place so it could be picked up and given to  people who would love and care for it.  Whether her child was still born, died of S.I.D.S, or alive at the time it was abandoned, no child deserves to be dumped like Garbage.

When this child's mother is found, as I said, in my eyes she deserves to die for her actions, but in all likelihood she'll receive a mere slap on the wrist.  Its enough to make you sick.

And finally, Corporate Coup:

I've recently sat backed and watched a corporate Coup-de-tate take place in my primary vocation.  Although my employment is secure in this volatile world of shaky economies, I've essentially been railroaded, while one of my key employee's is stolen away in corporate Political B.S.

As the economy continues to crumble all around us corporations are getting bolder and bolder in their abuse and bullying of the hard working people who keep them afloat.  In fact I saw one young man whose employer laid him off via a Telephone Text Message rather then break this news to him in person.  If this isn't a cold and heartless way to deal with the people who work hard to keep your business alive, then I don't know what is.  It'll be interesting to see how this plays out once the economy rebounds and those employees who were subject to abuses suddenly have more options and are no longer forcefully bound to their unappreciative and abusive employers.

Thought(s) for the Day: "Better to Die to your Feet, Then to Live on Your Knees"  and "Better to Die for Something, Then Live for Nothing"

Until Next Time,
Your Cold Hearted Bastard,

D.
