Greetings my Dear  Readers,

Its been a couple weeks since my last post.  I'm often amazed at how quickly time flies, but in that time a few things have caught my attention:

First up: Swine Nothing

The last couple weeks the news has been over run with hysteria over "Swine" Flu.  A new strain variation of the N1H1 Flu, that is apparently transmitted from Pigs to Humans, then Human to Human.  When this flu first hit the news a couple weeks ago it spread like wildfire in Mexico, quickly killed 25 people and then spread across the globe causing Disease Control Centres to go into a panic and fueled by the mass media news outlets the population was quickly bombarded with reports of a Killer  "Flu Pandemic".

While the news media fueled a Global Hysteria the Swine Flu despite spreading like wildfire world wide has killed an estimated total of 150 people, most of them in Mexico.  While the world goes into a Panic everyone tends to forget that the normal Flu kills approximately 36,000 people in North America alone every year and an estimated 500,000 people worldwide annually.  In the mean time the Swine flu has all but sizzled out and become less of a concern then the common cold.

In the mean time however an Elementary School and Daycare were closed for over a week not far from me after one child contracted a confirmed case of Swine Flu (the child had just returned from a holiday in Mexico with her parents).  The Flu has run its course and the child is fine.  Proving all the "hype" around this Swine scare is nothing more then the media's typical fear mongering propaganda.


Next Up: Human Trash

A few years ago, former neighbors, a Married, slightly mentally handicapped couple had two small children both of whom also suffered from mental handicaps, the youngest is so severely handicapped that he is expected to function at the level of an 18 month old for the reminder of his life, the oldest suffers only a slight mental handicap and with a little support could do quite well for herself.

This couple maybe due to their handicap or simply due to the fact that they are lousy parents had both their children apprehended by family services due to their failure to care for them properly.  Shortly after losing the children, the couple broke up and the father went on to "adventures in surgery" and has officially switched teams.  The mother had dropped off the radar and I hadn't seen her around for awhile. Then suddenly yesterday I bump into her and over heard her talking to a friend, she was obviously pregnant and talking about how excited she was about having a new baby.

I was physically ill.  Here is a woman who has already had two children, and had then taken away from her because she was not capable of being a decent mother, and she's having another one?  I'm sorry folks, but I can't be the only one who sees a problem here.  Its people like this that make me sick.  I know for a fact, that both of her previous children are in foster care and will never be returned.  Yet she can still pump out more children?

I've seen several cases like this over the years where unfit parents abuse, harm, and kill their children or are simply not capable of caring for them, Family services intervenes to save what children it can, then these monster parents go on an simply go on to have more children.  Yet forced sterilization is illegal?

I had more but I'm too sick after this last topic to continue.
