Incompetence and Loss
May 22 2009
Greetings my Dear Readers,
Today I come to you from a bright and sunny Paradise. Our 100 days of fun and sun have begun and our play ground of the rich and famous is beginning to switch into high gear for another season. The Labour day weekend that signals the end or winding down of summer for us, is a long way off but all the locals will counting the down the days until it arrives and returns a sense of sanity to our humble playground home.
First up: The Keystone Cops have a suspect
Unless you've been living under rock you've heard that the bungling morons or Woodstock's keystone cops have now arrested a young couple in the abduction and murder of eight year old Victoria Stafford (the subject of my April 13th Rant).
On Wendsday April 8th eight year old Victoria Stafford vanished on her way home from school. A high school surveillance camera near her elementary school caught Victoria on camera walking without struggle with a young woman, after this no sign of Victoria could be found. According to the story, Victoria was abducted at random by 18 year old Terri-Lynne McClintic for sexual purposes. It is believed that when Terri-Lynne and her 28 year old boyfriend Michael Rafferty, finished with little Victoria, Rafferty took the child and killed her only hours after her abduction.
As sick and twisted as this story is I still place heavy blame on the Woodstock authorities for not issuing an immediate Amber Alert the moment they realized Victoria was missing. Considering we now know that Victoria was killed only hours after her abduction its unknown whether an Amber Alert would have been effective, but now we'll never know.
When a child is abducted, whether by a male or female, regardless of the reason, seconds count. The Amber Alert system was designed to put an entire area into high alert (and the country that matter) and have everyone on the watch for the missing child. We now know that Rafferty took Victoria out of the Woodstock area to kill her, had an Amber Alert been issued, maybe she might have come to someone attention and saved before she was killed.
Woodstock and a hurt and shocked Nation now grieve the loss of young Victoria.
As I stated in my previous Rant on this matter, I hope the Woodstock authorities are held accountable for their screw up and Bias that very likely cost this child her life.
In 2007, 60,582 children were reported missing in Canada. The vast majority of these reports were the result of Parental Abductions, which very rarely result in harm to the child. Runaways account for a large numbers of these missing children reports. Of all these reported missing children in 2007, only 56 were kidnapped by someone other then the child's parents. In these few cases of Stranger abductions, seconds count. If a child is not recovered within 48 hours of the initial abduction they are very rarely found alive, this why Amber Alerts must be issued immediately when a child goes missing.
But now as a result of Colossal Incompetence, a young child is gone.
Until next time,
Your Cold Hearted Bastard,
D.
